Along the way, he’s been named the best keeper in both the Euros and World Cup, has been named to three UEFA teams of the year, and was ranked as the best goalkeeper in the world statistically (according to IFFHS) for both 2008 and 2009. As the anchor for the best international side in recent years and a domestically dominant club, he is sure to remain one of the top keepers in the world for years to come.
